Switching DC Voltage Regulator
With linear regulated power supply is a different class of regulated power is switching DC regulated power supply, its circuit type mainly has a single-ended flyback, single-ended forward, half-bridge, push-pull and full-bridge. The fundamental difference between it and the linear power supply is that it transformer does not work at the frequency but works in tens of kilohertz to several megahertz. Function tube is not working in the saturation and cut-off region that is the switching state; switching power supply is therefore named.
The advantages of switching power supply is small size, light weight, stable and reliable; disadvantages relative to the linear power supply ripple is larger (generally s1% VO (P-P). Good can do more than ten mV (P-P) or less). Its power can be from a few watts - a few kilowatts are products.
